Dayasiri Praises the President

Making a special statement to "Mawbima" newspaper, Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara has said that it is because of the support given to him by the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, he was able to procure the record number of preferential votes in the North Western Provincial Council election.

Mr. Jayasekara emphasized that without the support of the President, he would never be able to beat even the record of highest preferential votes which had been obtained by the former President Chandrika Bandaranaike.
He reminds that it was the President who gave him the chance to come to the people and to do something useful for them when he was put into a corner of the UNP due to
the harassment of its leader Ranil Wickramasinghe.
Thanking the President for the support given to him, Mr. Jayasekara says that due to the introduction given by the President about him to the SLFP members in the North West, calling him a young leader, they all laid their trust upon him.

Mr. Jayasekara emphasizes that even though some people are trying to make up rumors saying that there is a dispute between him and the President, the relationship between them cannot be shattered.
