He added this statement while addressing a propaganda meeting of the UPFA which he attended in Kandy in support of the candidates contesting for the forthcoming provincial council elections held yesterday afternoon
“Those who are contesting the Northern Province, provincial council election are bringing proposals to divide the country
once more. This shows how bankrupt they are in this regard. They do not know that until I am the President their proposal will not be allowed to become a reality. That is a wrong impression. Those who such intentions should realise that it would never be allowed to become happen which even Prabhakaran could not do. I wish to reiterate it to them very clearly” added the President.
