Six Lane Track from Enderamulla to Ambepussa
The preliminary work on the first phase of proposed Northern expressway from Enderamulla to Ambepussa will begin shortly with six lanes at a cost of US$ 1 billion, says Ports and Highways Project Minister Nirmala Kotalawala.
Most sections of expressway will be constructed parallel to the railway line, paddy fields, marshy and barren lands affecting only few populated areas.The 52 KM long stretch from Enderamulla-Ambepussa will begin at new interchange of the Outer Circular Highway near Enderamulla Railway Station and will pass through, Horape to Bothale passing 17
stations with five interchanges in Enderamulla, Gampaha, Veyangoda, Mirigama and Ambepussa, 50 over-passes and 30 under-passes.
